⚡ OUTPUT
* intl has no date data for this locale: pattern formatting falls back to English, while relative, calendar and duration strings are localized.

The gallery is also a capability table: the do MMMM yyyy column shows native intl pattern support, while the relative, calendar, duration and ordinal columns show the localized hooks available to the formatter. A * beside the locale code means pattern formatting uses the English fallback.

Lookup rules

  • Codes are case-insensitive and accept BCP-47 tags: zh-cn, ZH_CN and zh_CN are the same.
  • An unknown region falls back to its language (vi_VN → vi), then to English.
  • When a call passes no locale, DateFormatterConfig.locale is used, then Intl.defaultLocale.
  • format keeps the requested region for intl (en_GB, pt_BR) when intl has data for it.
