Time zones
flutter_date_formatter formats the DateTime value it receives. It does not
ship a time-zone database or convert an instant between named zones.
Local values
Most DateTime constructors create local values. Formatting preserves that
local wall-clock value:
final local = DateTime(2025, 3, 21, 15, 30);
local.format(pattern: 'yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm'); // local clock time
UTC values
Use toUtc() or parse with utc: true when the input represents UTC:
final parsed = FlutterDateFormatter('yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss')
.parse('2025-03-21 15:30:00', utc: true);
assert(parsed.isUtc);
The utc option controls the DateTime returned by parsing; it does not
apply a named-zone conversion. For IANA zones such as
Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh, convert the value with a dedicated timezone package
before passing it to the formatter.
